Capital required to maximise the productive use of energy in rural sub-Saharan Africa
New analysis from the Powering Renewable Energy Opportunity (PREO) programme examines the scale of investment opportunity in the productive use of energy (PUE). Productive use of energy market opportunity in rural sub-Saharan Africa is estimated to be $864 billion over the next ten years ($86.4 billion per annum). The report highlights the economic and social benefits of investing in revenue and income generating equipment and appliances and the associated business case for investment into reliable renewable energy infrastructure to help business and industries reach their full potential across sub-Saharan Africa.
